Review: The Good Boy by Lisa Henry and J.A. Rock

The Good Boy by Lisa Henry and J.A. Rock Genre: M/M Contemporary Romance Series: #1 Boy Some stories are just so impactive (Is that a word?  It is now.) that not only can you not put them down; you can’t stop thinking about them for a while after you finish reading it.  There were moments I laughed so hard and on the other extreme there were moments when my tears of sadness just flowed without my knowledge.  This is the sort of ‘coming of age’ story for one hero that you want never to happen in reality, but if so, you hope …

Review: Dangerous Submission by Lori Toland

Dangerous Submission by Lori Toland Genre: M/M Romantic Suspense Series: #2 Dangerous Affairs After reading the first book in the series, The Long Con, and really enjoying it, I was more than willing to give this sequel, Dangerous Submission, a try.  They are set in the same world of art crime and investigation and the main characters from the first book are minor characters in the beginning.  I suppose it could be read out of order in a pinch, but I’m always one for reading books in a series in order. While I enjoyed this story as much as the first one …

Review: Blacker Than Black by Rhi Etzweiler

Blacker Than Black by Rhi Etzweiler Genre: M/M Dystopian Paranormal Romance   I just adore the creative-world building of this author whether it is the Sci-Fi Romances I read previously or this parallel earth paranormal story.  This book grabbed my interest from the beginning and didn’t let go until the end.  I sat there wishing the story could just keep going because I wanted more- more time with the fascinating characters.  The pace was a blend of excitement and ‘cat and mouse’ style action and dialogue because not only is this a paranormal romance; it is intrigue and mystery too.  Loved …

ARC Review: Never A Hero by Marie Sexton

Never A Hero by Marie Sexton Genre: M/M Contemporary Romance Series: #5 Tucker Springs Series This is only my second book in the series and I found myself once again touched emotionally by the characters and their lives.  One character, Owen Meade, was born with the birth defect of missing his left arm from just below the elbow and also developed stuttering and anxiety issues as a result of his mother’s cruel way of rearing him and an incident from high school.  The other hero, Nick Reynolds, has his own dark secret to bear as well. Owen meets Nick when the vet …

Review: Silver/Steel by Belinda McBride

Silver/Steel by Belinda McBride Genre: M/M Paranormal Romance Series: #2 Arcada This was the second book in the Arcada series and I was so glad that it took up the story of Blacque’s younger brother, Travis, who seemed so lost in the first book.  This brings me to mention that I would recommend reading the stories in order because of the series spoilers that would be revealed in the second story and because Travis Feris story began in the first book. Travis Feris, son of the alpha wolf, but also an omega mother is a lost angry, hurting and rudderless soul.  He …

Review: Covet Thy Neighbor by L.A. Witt

Covet Thy Neighbor by L.A. Witt Genre: M/M Contemporary Romance Series: #4 Tucker Springs I picked up this story for two reasons.  One was because I have already enjoyed two other stories from this series that has more than one author tackling characters who all live and work in the same town.  The second reason was sheer curiosity.  I had to know how a story about a minister and an atheist tattoo artist could possibly work.  In the end, I have to applaud the author for showing that for these guys that wasn’t the real barrier to their relationship.  Personally, I’m still …

Flawless by Cat Grant Genre: Contemporary GLBT Romance, M/M Romance Series: Irresistible Attraction Series, book #4 Purchase Flawless at Riptide Publishing.
